2016-2017 Southeast Regional Chair
Chapter: California State Polytechnic University – Pomona

Hello and welcome,

My name is Ashim Shrestha and it is an absolute honor to be serving as the 2016 – 2017 Western Regional Chair for the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. I am currently a senior studying at the Collins College of Hospitality Management, part of the larger California State Polytechnic University – Pomona.

I joined NSMH my first year in college and was able to partake as the Hospitality Week Chair. Since then I have assumed the positions of Vice President and President of the Cal Poly Pomona Chapter. My personal exposure to the hospitality industry has been greatly influenced by this organization. The opportunities provided and resources allotted to our members can only be considered with the highest regard. It is for this reason that I wish to uphold our vision, mission and values, in order to allow for all students who wish to succeed and pursue their goals to do so. We can all achieve the best during our college years and establish the foundation for our future careers.

My aim is to serve as a resource for those schools located in the Western Region of the United States and assist in the development of chapters and individuals. Please do not hesitate to reach out; I will do my best to answer any questions or address concerns. I am extremely excited to see what lies in store for us and have no doubt that with our combined efforts we can make this a truly remarkable year.

I hope to see the all the best coast students at Cal Poly Pomona during the weekend of October 14th for the Western Regional Conference! Plan to also attend the 28th Annual NSMH National Conference in Jacksonville, Florida February 23-26!

Let’s make this year one for the books.

With NSMH pride,

Ashim Shrestha
2016-2017 Southeast Regional Chair
