Midwest here we come! The NSMH 21st Annual National Conference & Career Fair will be held in Indianapolis, the recently revitalized 13th largest city in America. We will be at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. The Indianapolis Marriot Downtown is made up of 19 floors, 601 rooms and 21 suites. Some of the hotel features are 24 hour room service, an indoor pool, two restaurants, in-room wireless internet (for a daily rate of $12.95) and complimentary wireless internet in hotel lobby.The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. The hotel is within walking distance of many different attractions and restaurants and just a skywalk away from Circle Center Mall. Circle Center Mall features over 100 specialty stores and a food court. The food court will likely be the location for your career fair day lunch, which will continue to be “on your own” this year. Indy has it all! The best part is that everything you could need or want is conveniently located in its easy-to-navigate downtown area. Important Hotel Information:
The Indianapolis Marriott Downtown has a lot of windows in some of their meeting rooms making the temperature of the hotel colder than usual. Be sure to wear layers so that you will feel comfortable during conference and events. When planning out your budget make sure that you include the 13% room tax on top of the room rate. Check in time is 4:00pm and Check out time is 11:00am. If your travel plan has you arriving at the hotel before 4pm, there is a possibility that your room will not be ready. Be prepared to wait patiently. Starbucks is located in the lobby of the hotel The hotel has two restaurants: Circle City Bar & Grille and Champions Call your hotel a few days prior to arrival to confirm your reservation. Be patient. Travelling can be very stressful. Always keep in mind that most delays are out of the control of the service providers you come in contact with. Remain calm and respectful to travel employees. Be hospitable. Don’t forget to greet others, say thank you, and tip. You are representing not only yourself but your chapter and NSMH as an entire organization. Remember that we need to set an example as the future hospitality leaders! |
