Presenter Information

This webinar will be presented by the Managing Director of A|B Consulting, Amrita Bhalla.

Amrita Bhalla founded A.B Consulting in 2015, bringing a practical and commercial approach to HR in helping organizations improve performance, employee engagement, and profitability. Her industry focus includes clients in the hospitality/tourism, technology, and not-for-profit sectors. 

Amrita is an accomplished senior HR executive with over 20 years of experience. In the last decade, she has specialized in senior HR roles in the luxury hospitality industry to include: Executive Vice President, Human Resources for Oberoi Hotels and Resorts; and Vice President, Belmond Hotels (formerly known as Orient Express). She was also the Chief People Officer and Executive Vice President for ONYX Hospitality, based in Thailand.

Amrita began her career in hospitality with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts as Director, Recruitment, and Development. She has lived and worked in Canada, Bermuda, United Kingdom, Thailand, and India. Her geographic experience also includes the U.S., Caribbean, Middle East, and China. 

After the completion of her Masters in Industrial Relations (MIR) from Queen’s University, Amrita started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers HR consulting in Toronto and Bermuda. Amrita has a proven track record in understanding client needs, implementing practical solutions, and successfully managing change.

Amrita is a lecturer in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour at the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism, Ryerson University in Canada. She is a member of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), a member of the People Development Committee for the Caribbean Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHTA), and is also on the Board of Trustees for the Caribbean Hospitality and Tourism Association Education Fund (CHTAEF). Amrita also sits on the Women in Tourism & Hospitality (with.org) Advisory Board, an organization focused on supporting gender pay equity and the advancement of women in the industry.
