Greetings Southeast Region! My name is Janae Moore, and it is a privilege to introduce myself as the 2011-2012 Southeastern Regional Chair of NSMH! As a longtime member of this organization, I have benefited immensely from all that NSMH has to offer and am looking forward to my new role as an opportunity to give back. I am enthusiastic and excited to be a part of a team committed to shaping “today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders” through providing opportunities for professional development, networking and growth within the hospitality industry. With a new semester quickly approaching, I am looking forward to aiding in the advancement and development of the Southeast Region by establishing working relationships with each chapter, increasing membership, and encouraging active participation in all NSMH activities and events. I am confident that by working together, the Southeast Region will be successful in upholding the mission of our proud organization and will take the right steps in realizing our status as the premier professional organization for minority hospitality students! Last year, the South/Southeast Regional Conference was a blast! The conference, which took place in Charlotte, NC, boasted over 200 members making it one of the largest regional conferences in the history of NSMH! Let’s make it happen again, Southeast! This year’s Regional Conference will be held November 4-6, 2011 in Atlanta, GA at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast. Be sure you begin your planning early; we want to show Atlanta the true meaning of southern hospitality! I am looking forward to the upcoming year as we work together to further develop ourselves as strong members, dedicated chapters, generous sponsors and a united Southeast Region! I am certain that the 2011-2012 academic year will be marked by many more successes for this region and I am excited to embark upon this journey with each and every one you! Of course, one of the year’s highlights will be the national conference, February 16-19 in Washington, D.C. Plan to be there for “NSMH Nation: iDream, iLearn, iAm.” Please do not hesitate to contact me with ANY questions, comment or concerns at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
