Welcome Northeast Region! My name is Meagan D. Carty and I am your 2010-2011 Northeast Regional Chair. I am currently a Senior at Temple University studying Tourism and Hospitality Management, with a concentration in Hospitality Management. I am excited to be in this position, and honored to work with people who share the same passion as I for the hospitality industry! I am looking forward to this year and helping with the development of the Northeast region! Some of my goals are to re-establish chapters, increase membership, establish great working relationships with chapters, and to remain on top as the Champions of Hospitality Olympics! The 2010-2011 National Board is determined to provide an EXPERIENCE to the members of NSMH. We are a resource for your personal and professional growth, and we will go above and beyond! Through my experience as a member, chapter board member and past chapter president, I have seen that in order to reap the benefits of NSMH it is important to be an active member of your school's chapter and take on leadership roles. Take advantage of the programs your chapter offers, scholarships that are available, and submit a well written resume which markets you to employers. I encourage you to get involved, attend conferences, apply for Chapter Awards, and run for National Board positions because this organization is growing everyday and can have tremendous impact on you and your career.
Take advantage of the Northeast Regional Conference so you can enhance your resume, network with other members, meet hospitality professionals, and get some tips on proper dress attire for interviews. This will be a great way for you to prepare yourself for our upcoming 22nd Annual National Conference & Career Fair being held February 10-13, 2011 in Atlanta, GA at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway. The theme of the National Conference is “Creating Our Own Legacy” Contact me with any questions or comments at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
