Hello Northeast Region!

My name is Leslie Duran, and I am honored to serve as the 2011-2012 Northeast Regional Chair. I am currently a senior at Boston University studying Hospitality Administration. It is with great excitement that I welcome new and returning members and sponsors to another great year with the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH).

I am looking forward to the upcoming year as we work together to further develop ourselves as strong members, dedicated chapters, generous sponsors and a united Northeast Region! My goals involve starting new chapters in unchartered territories and helping current chapters grow to their full potential.

As the Northeast Regional Chair, I am here to serve you. Hospitality is not only a business; it is my passion. NSMH is more than an organization; it is a family. Hence, it is only appropriate to have the next regional conference in a place emblematic of both hospitality and family.  I am very eager to announce the Northeast Regional Conference this year will be held in New Jersey at the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia-Cherry Hill Hotel. “The City of Brotherly Love” will host the conference October 21^st- 23^rd. From resume building to industry roundtables, the Regional Conference will give you the preparation necessary for a beneficial National Conference.

Join us in Washington, D.C. February 16-19 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City as we celebrate “NSMH Nation: iDream, iLearn, iAm.”  Be sure to mark your calendars and begin planning early; this is definitely a conference you will not want to miss!
